Wilbur Endy
2017-02-21

      Wilbur Endy, 88, of Hummelstown and formerly of Pennsburg, PA

passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Edith H. (Rauch) Endy celebrating 67 years of marriage in July.

      Born in East Greenville, PA, he was the son of the late George and Ruba M. (Graber) Endy.

      He was a 1946 graduate of East Greenville High School then served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 – 1948 and then later served during the Korean Conflict. 

      He worked as a Switchman at Bell Telephone then Verizon for 38 years retiring in 1992.

      Wilbur was a lifelong member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ where he served on the Consistory for two separate terms.  He was also a member of the American Legion Post #184 in East Greenville and also had coached Little League Baseball for many years.  He enjoyed working on cars, hunting and sports and especially spending time with his family.

      He will be sadly missed by his wife; four children, Robert L. Endy and wife, Cindy of Kentucky, Donna L. Smith and husband, Stephen of Delaware, Judy L. Long and husband, Jan of Florida and Michael L. Endy and wife, Eileen of PA; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter; a brother, Donald Endy and wife, Mildred of Maryland; two sisters, Eileen Gibbs and husband, Vernon of South Carolina and Linda Young, wife of Donald Young of East Greenville and sister-in-law, Faith Endy, widow of Richard Endy of Red Hill.  Along with his parents he is predeceased by his brother, Richard and a grandson, Bradley Stevens.

      The funeral will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville PA.  Burial to follow in the church cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 10:45 until 11:45 a.m. on Sat. at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA.
