Richard L. Custer
2017-02-21

            Richard L. Custer, 84, of Boyertown, passed away on February 17,

2017. He was widower of Doris Custer who died in 2011. Born in Boyertown, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Laura (Hoffman) Custer.

            He worked for the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. in Pottstown for 30 years and then worked at the Boyertown High School until he retired. He was an avid weight lifter and could be found most days at the Upper Perk YMCA. He was also a member of the Boyertown Senior Center.

            Surviving are his sons: Timothy and his wife Barbara of Boyertown, and Michael and his wife Lisa of Bechtelsville; his grandchildren: Steven Custer and his wife Kim and Joshua and Daniel Custer, and Rebecca, Alex and Rachel Zentmyer; and his great grandchildren: Ben and Katie Custer, and Katelyn Garcia.

            Services will be held privately. Contributions may be made in his memory to either the Upper Perk YMCA or the Boyertown Senior Center.
