Alice M. Kershner
2017-02-13

            Alice M. (Platt) Kershner, 91, widow of Wilmer Z. Kershner, formerly of East Greenville, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 in Millerstown, PA where she lived with her daughter, Kathrine.

            Born in Spring City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Eva (Shaner) Platt.

            Alice was a Presser for the former Shaner Knitting Mill for 12 years and then an Egg Handler for Cleaver Egg in Palm for 18 years.

            She was a member of Calvary United Church of Christ in Barto, PA.

            She is survived by her children, Sheldon W. Endy and wife, MaryAnn of Walnutport, PA, Ralph W. Endy and wife, BettyJane of Macungie, PA and Katherine M., wife of George Jacob, Jr. of Millerstown, PA; six grandchildren, Tracey Frey, Sharon Tarantino, George Jacob III, JoAnn Longacre, Robert Endy and Rose Mann; four step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren, Timmy and Matthew Frey, Tyler, Mason and Travis Jacob, Daniel, Audrey and Isaac Longacre, Amanda and Sheldon Mann and Douglas Endy.

            In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Roy Platt; and sisters, Ann Bowen, Ruth Shenafield and Verna McElle.

            A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA  18041 with Rev. Linda Kozlowski officiating. Burial follows in Christ Union Cemetery, Niantic.  Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.             In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Calvary United Church of Christ, 1231 Route 100, Barto, PA 19504.
