David W. Hallman
2017-01-11

David W. Hallman was born in Pennsburg, PA and passed away in bed at his home in Orlando, FL. He was predeceased by his parents Kenneth H. and Margaret Welker Hallman and is survived by his sister Sallie Barroner of Hollidaysburg, PA.

David graduated from Perkiomen Prep School in Pennsburg, PA, earned his BA in Music Ed. at Penn State where he also played in the Blue Band, and earned his MA from University of Florida.  He taught instrumental music in FL public schools until an opportunity arose at which time he joined the Orlando Symphony playing cello.

He was a very talented classical musician and could play a number of instruments but excelled as an organist and a cellist. He was a church organist retired from Redeemer Lutheran Church. In addition to his love of classical music, especially that of Johann Sebastian Bach, he had a lifelong obsession with trains and when visiting his sister in PA he always traveled via train.

Interment will be at New Goshenhoppen Cemetery in East Greenville, PA. At the convenience of the family there will be a private memorial service at a later date. Arrangements will be made by Baldwin Fairchild, Orlando and by Falk Funeral Home in Pennsburg, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to Perkiomen School, 200 Seminary St., Pennsburg, PA 18073.
