Fern G. Henry
2017-01-08

            Fern G. (Leister) Henry, 80, widow of Walter T. Henry, Sr., of Bechtelsville, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Penn State Health St. Joseph's, Reading.

            Born in Upper Hanover Township, PA, she was a daughter of the Late Fred and Mary (Fels) Leister.

            She worked as the Credit Manager for W.T. Grant in Pottstown and also was a Supervisor at Commodore Computers in Audubon.  She then worked at Plummer Precision Optics, Pennsburg retiring in 1992.

            She was a member of the Oley Bible Chapel and served as the Secretary of Cub Scout Troop #249 for many years.

            Surviving are her three sons, Walter T. Henry, Jr. and wife, Theresa of Boyertown, Richard L. Henry of New Berlinville and Ronald L. Henry and wife, Beverly of Birdsboro; five sisters, Kathryn Edelman of Quakertown, Shirley Steinman of Coatesville, Dolores Bieler of Lansdale, Joyce Butera of Pittston and Diane Greisemer of Pennsburg and her companion, Claire; five grandchildren, Tonya, Bryan, Sr. , Kathryn, Kristine and Melissa and three great grandchildren, Wyatt, Bryan, Jr. and Emmitt.  Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Leroy and Earl Leister.

            A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 with Rev. Fred Bell officiating. Burial follows in Most Blessed Sacrament Cemetery, Bally.  Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  Offer sympathy to the family on our website at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
