Theodore F. Banes
2017-01-03

            Theodore "Ted" F. Banes, 16, of Palm, passed away on Sunday,

January 1, 2017 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest in a motorcycle accident. 

            Born in Allentown, PA, he was the son of Matthew L. and Bettina L. (Zampier) Banes with whom he resided.

            He was a former student at Upper Perkiomen High School and currently he was half owner, along with his father, of MB Roofing in Palm. He was proud to have recently received his NHRA membership.  He loved riding motorcycles, dirt bikes and his four-wheeler, and especially building cars and driving his Shelby GT500 with his dad.  He also enjoyed Maple Grove Dragway.

            He will be sadly missed by his parents; two sisters, Brittany L. Zampier, companion of Kalin Schweizerhof of Kutztown and Jean P. Banes of Palm; nephew, Lucas Schweizerhof, paternal grandmother, Jean L. (DelBuono) Sauers of Cape May, NJ; godparents, John R. Banes and Beverly "B.B" Neas and a large extended family.  He is predeceased by maternal grandfather, Robert F. Zampier, paternal grandfather, Edward F. Banes and maternal great grandmother, Lydia (Sabo) Heiser.

            A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 with Rev. Charles Romanowski officiating.   Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the funeral home.  Casual Camo attire is preferred.  Offer sympathy to the family on our website at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, P O Box 781352, Philadelphia PA  19178.
