Gladys Ida Hetrick
2017-01-03

Gladys Ida Hetrick passed away peacefully at Lehigh Valley Hospital

in Allentown on January 1, 2017. She recently celebrated her 88th birthday on December 9th. Gladys resided at Manor Care Nursing Home in Allentown. She was the wife of the late Norman Ernest Hetrick. The couple formerly lived in East Greenville for many years.  She was also the daughter of the late Titus and Ida (Sell) Haberle.

Gladys was a long-time member of St. Paul's Church in Red Hill.  Before having children and becoming a full-time homemaker, she was a sewing machine operator.  She loved celebrating holidays; spending time with her granddaughter, Tara; caring for her cats; cooking for family and friends; going to family outings and picnics; and listening to polka music.

Gladys is survived by her two daughters, Diann Hetrick, and her friend Jim Drabick, of Philadelphia, and Barbara Gilbert, and her husband Wayne, of Hereford; one granddaughter, Tara Butler, and her husband Brian, of Bally; one great granddaughter, Paisley Butler, to arrive in January; two brothers, Earl and Robert Haberle; and one sister, Evelyn Ohl. She is predeceased by her daughter, LuAnn Hetrick; son, Glenn Hetrick; three brothers Victor, Stanley, and Bill Haberle; and one sister Violet Dietz.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at St. Paul's Church, 1244 St. Paul's Church Road, Pennsburg, PA 18073.  Family will receive relatives and friends from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested in Gladys' Memory to her granddaughter, Tara Butler: https://www.gofundme.com/gladys-hetrick-memorial-fund.
