TCC Verizon Launching Corporate Giving Program in East Greenville
2016-12-07

New program now accepting applications from local nonprofit organizations for grants up to $10,000

TCC, the nation's largest Verizon Authorized Retailer, is now accepting applications for grants up to $10,000 from non-profit organizations in East Greenville. The company's new nationwide corporate giving program, TCC Gives, aims to serve people, animals and the environment in the more than 500 communities where TCC operates nationwide.

The TCC Gives Board of Directors will select the organizations that will receive the grants on a quarterly basis. Non-profits that are interested in applying for a grant must have a TCC employee sponsor their request. If an application is not chosen, the employee and/or non-profit can submit an application the following quarter.

The participating TCC store in East Greenville is located at 622 Gravel Pike, Suite 112 (Upper Hanover Township.)

"We launched TCC Gives as a way to show our valued customers and community members how much we care about them," said Scott Moorehead, CEO of TCC. "It is our goal to continue to grow this program and support every community where TCC operates a store."

In addition to the grants, TCC Gives will also select two to six of its stores or areas of operation to receive funding for larger community projects on an annual basis. For example, in March 2016, the company unveiled the TCC Rainforest Activity Center at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health, an area dedicated to therapeutic play for patients and families. The room is equipped with art supplies and the latest high-tech games and gear, such as touch screen computers, tablets and a multi-media projector.

TCC Gives was launched at the company's seventh annual Manager's Sales Rally in downtown Indianapolis. Throughout the two-day sales rally, seven TCC executives "pitched" their favorite non-profit organizations before an audience of more than 1,000 employees, explaining why they deserved to receive the first grants from TCC Gives. The non-profits located nationwide – received a combined $50,000 in grants through the program.

The launch of TCC Gives falls on the heels of TCC's donation of $250,000 to Make-A-Wish. Through its partnership with the organization, TCC is granting the wishes of 25 Make-A-Wish children across the U.S.

TCC makes ongoing investments in the communities in which it does business through its Making Communities Better program. In 2015, its efforts included donating $1 million to Riley Hospital for Children, providing 100,000 backpacks full of school supplies to children, giving supply packs to 5,000 teachers and contributing $100,000 for materials used to improve the environment.
