Pottstown SCORE's second annual Small Business EXPO is shaping up to be even bigger and better than last year's event. The EXPO provides a relaxed atmosphere for local business, civic leaders and supporting organizations to exchange ideas and learn while promoting their business.
A highlight of this year's EXPO is guest speaker Gail S. Bower, founder and president of Bower & Co. Consulting, who will speak about "What is the Future of Small Business?" Trained as a futurist (and a member of the Association of Professional Futurists), Bower studies where society is headed, what trends are on the horizon and how these trends impact her clients' businesses. Along with her consulting work for major international firms, she has been interviewed by, and quoted in, major national and international news outlets and other specialized media.
The EXPO will also feature approximately 50 exhibitors: successful SCORE clients who will share information about their businesses, sponsors, and community and business development partners such as the SBA, Kutztown SBDC, lenders and Chambers of Commerce who will be there to share information and answer questions.
Everyone is invited to attend (admission is free). Those attending will get a better understanding of the trends and challenges facing small businesses, and learn about SCORE and other resources available to our small business communities. It will be a great opportunity to mingle with and learn from peers, have fun and enjoy good food and drink from the cash bar.
The event will be held on Thursday, Oct. 20 from 4-7 p.m. at the Brookside Country Club, 850 N. Adams Ave. in Pottstown.
Pottstown SCORE, a nonprofit organization, is celebrating its 25th anniversary. It comprises experienced volunteers who provide free and confidential expert business counseling to individuals who are considering starting a business, as well as owners and managers who are already in business.
