The 96th Business and Professional Women's Organization of Pennsylvania Convention was held in Cranberry Township on June 9 to 12, 2016. President Emily Holgash of Windber, PA presided over the convention proceedings.
BPW/PA Individual Development Program Chair, Nancy Werner, of East Greenville, announced that Loretta Pigeon, of the Upper Perkiomen BPW Club- District Eleven, had received the distinction of being selected the winner of the "Stand Up-Speak Up" Competition. The Individual Development Program is a professional development course that is offered by BPW to members and community members. It consists of 15 modules (lessons) that will enhance one's skills with a multitude of topics such as networking, interviewing, negotiating, setting goals, seeking leadership skills and speaking to an audience.
Loretta has been a member of the Upper Perkiomen BPW for 5 years and is serving as their First Vice President. She is presently their Issues Management Chair who secures speakers for their monthly meetings. She has served on the Upper Perkiomen's BPW Women's Expo Committee as well as volunteering for the first Upper Perkiomen BPW job fair held in April on Equal Pay Day. Loretta has also continued her work with the ID Program by becoming a certified facilitator.
Loretta is employed at the Family Care Givers Network as the Director of Communications. She is responsible for the direct marketing to their referral sources and community and presenting information to potential referral sources.
She received an Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting from Katharine Gibbs School and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Care Management from Immaculata University. She is presently earning a certified certificate in Geriatric Care Management.
