An East Greenville man, already on probation after pleading guilty to felony solicitation of child pornography in 2013, was arrested by Upper Perk Police Feb. 19 on drug charges. He is being held on $100,000 cash bail.
Richard Bickhart, 46, of the 300 block of Main Street, was charged with felony counts of possession with intent to deliver, criminal use of a communication facility and dealing with the proceeds of unlawful activities, along with three counts of drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia after police served a warrant on his home.
According to a criminal complaint filed in the case, police said they found more than $2,000 in cash, bags of marijuana packaged for sale, Subutex tablets, packaging materials, a drug ledger, cocaine and multiple cell phones inside Bickhart's bedroom.
Police said it appeared Bickhart attempted to destroy the drug ledger, which was found in a trash can ripped in pieces. The ledger indicated customers' names and how much they paid Bickhart for drugs, or how much was fronted to them, police said.
Authorities said Bickhart admitted possessing the drugs to distribute them. He allegedly told police he was selling the drugs to pay bills and for other items.
Bickhart was arraigned Friday by Judge Catherine Hummel Fried of Red Hill District Court. He was remanded to Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail. He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing in front of Hummel Fried on March 1 at 1:45 p.m.
Bickhart was sentenced in Oct. 2013 to 9 to 23 months in jail, along with three years' probation, after pleading guilty to one felony count of criminal solicitation of child pornography in Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas. Charges of possession of child pornography, corruption of minors and harassment were dropped as part of that plea agreement.
