A Pennsburg couple remains in Montgomery County jail after authorities conducted a midday raid on their Main Street home.
Lacey Williams, 28, of the 100 block of Main Street, was charged with two felony counts each of drug possession with intent to deliver or manufacture, dealing in the proceeds of unlawful activities, and two counts of misdemeanor possession. Her boyfriend, Morris Lewis, 35, of the same address, was charged with one count each of felony possession with intent to deliver or manufacture and dealing in the proceeds of unlawful activity, along with misdemeanor drug possession.
According to court documents filed by Upper Perk Police Cpl. James Lavin, authorities conducted surveillance on the couple as part of an ongoing drug investigation Nov. 29 through Dec. 1. Police determined Williams and Morris were distributing crystal methamphetamine and marijuana and drug buys were witnessed by law enforcement.
Police said Williams sold the buyer an unspecified amount of crystal meth for cash under Lewis' supervision at a location in Pennsburg.
On Dec. 3 members of several dozen law enforcement agents, including the North Penn Tactical Response Team, K9 units from the Montgomery County Sheriffs Office and West Conshohoken Police Department, the Montgomery County Drug Task Force, Upper Perk Police and Montgomery County Detectives, raided the couple's home.
Williams and Lewis were arrested earlier that day in the North Wales area, authorities said.
A search warrant executed early Thursday afternoon included evidence from inside the home and Williams' car, in addition to cell phones. A member of the Montgomery County Drug Task Force was seen carrying guns out of the home. According to Upper Perk Police, a "substantial amount of crystal meth and marijuana packaged for sale" was seized from inside.
Police said they expect to file additional charges sometime next week.
Lewis was arraigned that afternoon by Judge Catherine Hummel Fried of Red Hill District Court, who set bail at $25,000 cash. Williams was arraigned that night by Judge Kathleen Valentine of Ardmore District Court, who also set bail at $25,000 cash. Lewis and Williams remain incarcerated and are both scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing in Red Hill Dec. 15 at 1:30 p.m.
