Nearly 3,000 people died that day.
Hundreds more have died since as a result of
illnesses sustained from that tragic day.
People are still dying from those illnesses 14 years later.
10,000 people suffered injuries – many very serious.
The cost to the hijackers for their attacks was roughly $500,000.
The damage they caused is valued at more than $3.3 trillion.
