Thomas A. Hahn
2015-09-08

            Thomas A. Hahn, a Computer Pioneer, age 77, of Horsham Township and Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem died on September 4, 2015. He was a retired executive of Unisys Corporation, Blue Bell and an independent consultant.

            Born in Springfield, MN, he was the son of the late Donald and Leona Neudecker Hahn. He was raised in Clements and Mankato, MN. He lived in Horsham Township since 1984, after relocating from Minneapolis-St. Paul area.  Previous residences were in Utica, NY; Bristol, TN and San Jose, CA.
            Mr. Hahn attended Loyola High School in Mankato and graduated from Minnesota State University (Mankato) with a bachelor's degree in mathematics.

            He was a founding member of Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church in North Wales.
Mr. Hahn was a pioneer in the computer industry. He worked for Unisys Corp and its predecessors, Remington Rand and Sperry Corp for 38 years, beginning as a programmer on the prototype Univac II and retiring as Director, Advanced Technology. He later formed and became the president of Hahn Technology, Inc. which developed custom and pre-packaged software solutions for personal computers.

            Mr. Hahn is survived by children Kathleen Clark and her husband Mark of Houston, TX., David Hahn and his wife Donna of Doylestown, Daniel Hahn and his wife Tara of Dubuque, Iowa and Jean Artim and her husband Marcin of Green Lane, a brother Robert Hahn and his wife Diane of Pharr, TX and LeCenter, MN, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. His beloved wife of 41 years, Ann Kurkowski, Hahn died in April, 2001.

            Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Thursday, September 10 at 11 a.m. at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Road, North Wales, PA. 19454 (in Montgomery Township between County Line and Horsham Rds.) where the family will receive friends Thursday morning from 10 to 11 a.m.  Interment St. John Neumann Cemetery.
            For those desiring, in lieu of flowers,  contributions in Tom's memory to the American Cancer Society, 480 Norristown Road, Suite 150, Blue Bell, PA. 19422 would be preferred.
