The Perkiomen School, an independent, coeducational college preparatory boarding and day school, has hired Mark Sapara as Director of College Counseling. In this role, Sapara will oversee operations of the college counseling office, supervise college counseling staff and help students with the application process to assist them in getting into the college or university of their choice.
"Mark's admissions experience in higher education gives him a keen outlook on the college recruiting and application process," said Mark Devey, Headmaster at the Perkiomen School. "He understands the rigor and expectations of the admissions process. His ability to organize and communicate this information will be a great asset to our students and their families."
As Director of College Counseling, Sapara will also be responsible for overseeing the process of collecting letters of recommendation, preparing students for standardized testing, bringing colleges to the campus for student interviews and assisting students during the application process.
Sapara has 15 years of higher education admissions experience. Previously, he was Assistant Dean for Enrollment Services at Rutgers University-University College where he oversaw the admissions process. He has also served as Assistant Dean at Fairleigh Dickinson University and Associate Dean at Drew University where he was actively involved in making admissions decisions and sat on policy committees for admissions.
Sapara received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Theater with a concentration in Communications from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Master's degree in Education from Rutgers University. He resides in East Greenville, Pa.
