Elmer G. Reiter, Jr.
2015-07-07

Elmer G. Reiter, Jr., of Doylestown, passed away on July 6, 2015 at Pine Run Healthcare in Doylestown.  He was 81.

He was the beloved husband of Jane Landis Reiter and father of the late Susan Heacock.

Born in Green Lane he was the son of the late Elmer and Matilda Bernhard Reiter.

Elmer was a graduate of E. Greenville High School and went on to proudly serve with the United States Army during the Korean War.  Following his military service he earned his B.S. Degree in Accounting from Ursinus College and later his M.B.A. from Drexel University.

Elmer spent almost 40 years employed for the former Delaware Valley College where he held the position of Controller before becoming a professor in the Business Department.

An avid reader, he was always sure to read the New York Times on a daily basis.  He was also a dedicated fan of all the "Del Val" sports teams and enjoyed jazz music and playing the tenor saxophone.

In addition to his wife, Elmer is survived by his children, Tim Reiter and his wife, Erin, of Hershey, Kirsten Weller of Danville, Robert Pistorius of Summit Hill, PA, John Pistorius and his wife, Wendy, of Souderton, and Joseph Pistorius and his wife, Joanne, of Perkasie.  He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

His services and interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Pennsburg United Church of Christ, 775 Main Street, Pennsburg, PA 18073.         www.fluehr.com
