Robert Talbot, age 78, of The Meadows at Maria Joseph, peacefully passed

onto the Lord on Saturday morning, June 13, 2015, with his loving wife of 54 years by his side. 

            Robert had been a resident of Montour County since 2010 and formerly lived in Montgomery Co.

            Robert was born on Saturday, March 13, 1937 in Brooklyn NY a son of the late Frank and Edith (Hilton) Talbot.

            Bob served in the U.S. Army for three years with the Army Corps of Engineers in Greenland and Ft. Churchill, Manitoba CAN.  Afterward he had a 28 year career with the U.S. Post Office.

            On April 3, 1961 Bob married the former Katherine Wright.  Also surviving are two sons: Bruce Talbot and wife, Mary Beth, of North Wales PA and Steven Talbot and partner, Jerry Gorham, of Cerrillos NM; two grandchildren whom he adored: Shannon and Daniel.

            Robert Talbot was a man of great faith and believed in service to others.  He was very active in Catholic Church ministries in the various parishes where he had lived in Pennsylvania and Maryland.  As he was very humble about these services, they will not be enumerated.

            A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, June 22, 2015 in the chapel of Maria Joseph Manor from 10 to 11 a.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. with Father Fidellis as celebrant.  Private graveside services will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg, PA.

            A combined group of American Legion and VFW veterans will accord military honors at 10:50 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2015.  The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Talbot family.
