St. Luke’s Neurology Associates Partners with the Greater Delaware Valley Chapter of the National MS Society
2015-05-27

St. Luke's Neurology Associates and the Greater Delaware Valley Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society agreed to a "Partners in MS Care" partnership.

The partnership establishes St. Luke's Neurology Associates as a provider of quality services and specialized care for patients with MS.  In addition, St. Luke's and the Chapter will collaborate on MS-related activities that are beneficial to people and families living with the disease.

The Chapter's vision is "A World Free of MS" and a mantra in which St. Luke's believes.  As a part of the Chapter's goals, the caregivers at St. Luke's are advocates for MS research and treatment and leverage resources for those affected by the disease.

St. Luke's Neurology Associates provides multidisciplinary care to patients with MS to improve the current quality of life and to limit the progression of the disease.  Joan Sweeney, MD, Medical Director of St. Luke's Multiple Sclerosis Center, believes that education for the patient and family members is an essential part of the service provided by the center.

"Knowledge is power," said Dr. Sweeney. "The more that patients are aware of their disease, its progression and what support is available for them, empowers each patient to take whatever steps are necessary in their wellness plan."

"This partnership is important for us because it not only recognizes the dedication of our health network for MS patients, but it also allows us to advocate with the Society for the betterment of patient care," she continued.

St. Luke's Neurology Associates offers patients the convenience of five offices throughout the St. Luke's University Health Network.  For more information about St. Luke's Neurology Associates, call484-526-5210 or visit sluhn.org.  For more information about the Greater Delaware Valley Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, please visit http://www.nationalmssociety.org/Chapters/PAE.
