The brutality of the Islamic terrorists who claim to be the rulers of the Islamic State (formerly ISIS and ISIL) caliphate in areas that were/are part of Iraq and Syria seems to be endless.
Decapitating hostages wasn't enough. Now they've begun burning them alive, posting their savage actions online for all to see. Even more disturbing is that the method of execution for the Jordanian pilot, burned alive in a cage, was reported to have been solicited via a Twitter campaign.
Over the past few weeks we've learned of the mass execution of 13 boys by a firing squad using automatic weapons. Their crime was getting caught watching a soccer match between Iraq and Jordan. According to a witness, the bodies remained lying in the open and their parents were unable to withdraw them for fear of being murdered.
Three accused gay men were thrown from the roofs "of the highest building in the city" for being homosexual. Those who were still alive when they crashed to earth met their demise by stoning at the hands of onlookers.
The attacks in Paris that killed 15 people have the Islamic State and Al Qaeda both claiming responsibility and boasting about the attack. It seems that the Al Qaeda is determined not to be eclipsed by their newer, and at times more gruesome, cousin.
The horror goes on and on. Reports come in, almost daily, of atrocities committed by the terrorists.
As of yesterday, the Islamic State reportedly threatened France with more attacks and called for French Muslims to join the new "caliphate." A new video by the group has emerged online, nearly a month after the deadly attacks in Paris.
The group is also demanding that the French government release suspected jihadists that were detained for participating in the fighting in the Middle East.
Last week, the Islamic State called on Muslims to initiate new attacks against Western targets, saying it would regard as enemies those who are able to carry out such assaults but fail to do so. Leaders called on Muslims to carry out attacks on "the Crusaders," while promising to go after them in their "Christian bastions."
Western intelligence agencies have been raising the alarm over the possibility of US passport holders receiving training in places like Syria and Iraq and then traveling to the West to carry out attacks.
When will it end?
It has now come out that the United Arab Emirates has stopped their participation in the air strikes targeting the Islamic State. They ended shortly after a Jordanian pilot was shot down amid fears for their own pilots.
These terrorists groups are genuinely proud of what they've done and what they are planning to do. Their greatest asset is the inaction or inability of world powers to stop their reign of terror, and the fear they instill in others.
They proclaim that their actions are the will of Allah. It's hard to believe that a deity that approves of their violent inhumanity is worthy of being worshipped, so the terrorists must be wrong.
