Nora M. Schantz
2014-12-01

            Nora M. Schantz, 98, of Pennsburg, died Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at her home. 

            Born in Corning, PA, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Elsie (Schuler) Schantz.

            She worked as a sewing machine operator for 45 years, retiring in 1977, from the Quakertown Clothing Company.

            Nora was a member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, where she participated in Women's Fellowship, serving refreshments, and sewing for the needy.  She was involved in the East Greenville Fire Co. and Upper Milford Western District Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliaries and was a member of the Pennsburg and Montgomery Berks Golden Agers.  

            Surviving is one sister, Florence V. Steltz of Pennsburg and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

            A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, 1070 Church Rd, East Greenville with the Rev. Dr. Deborah Rahn Clemens officiating.  Burial is in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Old Zionsville, PA.  There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. until 11 a. m. on Wednesday at the church.  Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com. 

            Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041.

            Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to New Goshenhoppen Building Accessibility Fund, at the address above.
