Willard Charles "Charlie" Mest, 68, of East Greenville passed away
August 24, 2014 at home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (Schmoyer) Mest. Born in Sellersville, he was a son of the late Willard and Mildred (Bernhard) Mest. Charlie was a 1964 graduate of Upper Perkiomen, and served in the Air Force during Vietnam. After returning, he was employed in the Payroll Dept. of the former Phoenix Steel, and then was a postal worker in Perkasie from 1979-2014. He was a member of Pennsburg United Church of Christ, where he was a long time Consistory member, as well as past president and church treasurer. He was a two time Past Master for Perkiomen Chapter, #595, F.& A.M., and was the treasurer of the Perkiomen Square Club.
Surviving with his wife, are children: Jamie, wife of Paul Dwornik, of Barto; Scott Mest, and his wife, Debra, of Bechtelsville; and Jana, wife of Craig Butler, of East Greenville; 6 grandchildren: Victoria & Zachary Mest; Morgan & Madison Dwornik; and Rory & Avery Butler. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Nancy Wenner.
Services will be on Friday at 11 AM at Pennsburg United Church of Christ, 775 Main Street, Pennsburg. A viewing will be from 9-11 AM at church, with a Masonic Service at 10:45AM. The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg, is in charge of arrangements.
