Frederick Living Earns Top Rating on Department of Health Inspection
2014-07-30

In July, Frederick Living's health care center received the best possible rating on its annual licensure survey from the Pennsylvania Department of Health, citing zero deficient practices. Frederick Living's health care center offers both five-star rehabilitation services and nursing home care in an engaging environment residents are proud to call home.

Anna Bieler, chairperson of resident council, participated in the Department of Health survey. Reflecting on Frederick Living, she stated, "The staff do so many things for me to make sure my life is comfortable, and I'm happy I'm here. Together, we also do things to benefit our community, like our upcoming rummage sale to benefit the S.P.C.A."

"At Frederick Living, we all work together—residents, their families, our team members and volunteers—to empower older adults to live well, in a way that is meaningful to them," said Russell Mast, health services administrator for Frederick Living. "While our community has earned the five-star designation for the past couple years, we are particularly proud of this most recent licensure survey, which affirms our focus on the unique gifts, goals and ideas of each person, as well as clinical excellence."

The annual licensure survey examines many aspects of life and care in a skilled nursing environment, ranging from nursing care and physician services to resident choice and the dining experience. The survey, combined with other quality and staffing measurements, contribute to Frederick Living's five-star rating by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, or CMS.
