Grace E. Leister
2014-07-21

            Grace E. (Sell) Leister, 92, wife of the late Ernest W. Leister, formerly

of Red Hill, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014 in Life Quest Nursing Center, Quakertown.

            Born in Hatfield, she was a daughter of the late Alvin D. and Dovetta (Frey) Sell.

            She was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Red Hill where she belonged to WELCA and was a former Sunday School Teacher.  She was also a former member of the Red Hill Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW Post #5954 Ladies Auxiliary.

            Surviving are her children, Dennis L. Leister and wife, Sue, Barto; Joanne L., wife of the late Floyd G. Hersh, Green Lane; Beverly G., wife of Terry Ritz, Pennsburg and Rudy W. Leister and wife, Margaret, Pennsburg; siblings, James A. Sell, Hatfield and Jean, wife of Claude Croissette, Pennsburg; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.  Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Judith M. Marquart, siblings, Erma and Clarence Sell and Bertha Gehman; grandchildren, Penelope Hersh Rothenberger and Jean-Paul Caillouette and an infant great granddaughter.

            A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1244 St. Paul's Church Road, Pennsburg with Rev. William A. Vanderslice officiating.  Burial follows in the church cemetery.  A viewing will be held 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville and also from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at the church.
