Russell H. Oelschlager
Russell H. Oelschlager, 55, of Parrish, FL, died suddenly on June 14th at
Manatee Memorial Hospital following a heart attack. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 34 years Barbara, son Russ and his wife Stacey and grandson Rusty of Wilkes Barre and daughter Patty and her husband Chas Greer and grandson Zachary of Southern Pines, NC. Originally from Red Hill, Russell was the son of Doris Oelschlager of Frederick, and the late LeRoy Oelschlager.
Russell was predeceased by his older brother Mark, who died April 25, 2014. His surviving siblings include Judy Formalarie of NJ, Richard Oelschlager of Norristown, Patty Tachayapong of Emmaus, and Janet Pescatore of NY.
Russell worked for Air Products in Wilkes Barre as a Quality Control Supervisor for over 21 years and lived in Mountain Top. In 2013, he relocated with the company near Tampa, Florida. He was an officer of the Greater Philadelphia Section of the American Society of Nondestructive Testing.
A graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School, Russell was a veteran of the US Air Force and served time in Okinawa, Japan, where he met and married his wife, also in the Air Force. He also attended New Mexico State University at Alamogordo.
Interment will be private but memorial donations can be made in his name to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
