Univest Giving Away $1,000 to Nonprofit Educational Organization in Contest

For 138 years, Univest has differentiated itself by making it a priority to give back to the communities it serves. As part of our Committed to Local philanthropic giving program, we host a contest four times each year where we turn the tables and use Facebook and Twitter to ask YOU, our customers and community members, which local nonprofit deserves our financial assistance.  For our second Caring for Community Giveaway of 2014, we want to know which local, nonprofit educational organization should receive our financial support.

Schools, community colleges and education foundations all qualify and may be the first thing that comes to mind, but we also encourage you to nominate groups that promote lifelong learning such as libraries and other organizations that provide job training and/or continuing education.  In addition, nonprofit organizations that educate youth in extracurricular activities such as music, drama or the outdoors would qualify for the $1,000 prize.

                Here's how the contest works:

                • Identify a local, educational organization that deserves the $1,000 donation.

                                • Nominate the group by posting a comment on the Univest Facebook page,, or tweeting a vote to @UnivestCorp. One vote per person, per day.

                                • The nonprofit organization with the most votes at the end of the contest will be the $1,000 winner.

The contest runs from 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, through 5 p.m. on Friday, June 13.  To be eligible to win the $1,000, the nonprofit group must be a registered 501(c)(3) organization that aligns with the Univest giving guidelines and operates somewhere in the Univest service area of Bucks, Chester, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties and the Lehigh Valley.
