Quakertown Farmers Market announced this week that it will once again sponsor an “Annual Winter Coat Drive.” The coat drive began on Sept. 20 and runs through Sunday, Oct.13.
This is the 18th year for the Coat Drive and Market Manager John Chism said that “each year of the coat drive, our shopping community rallies to the aid of needy area families and our collection of coats continues to grow. We are simply overwhelmed with pride at the generosity of our shopping community. Last year, we collected over 500 coats and jackets and hope to beat that total this year.”
Shoppers are encouraged to bring in new or gently used, clean coats in good condition to the market office located at Exit #4. Donations may be dropped off Wednesdays and Thursdays between the hours of 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sundays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
As in previous years, the collection is donated to the local Salvation Headquarters in town for distribution to our needy, area residents.
