Alice L. Kistler
(October 27, 1949 - October 04, 2018)
Alice L. Kistler, 68, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the Cornwall Manor Health Center after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease. She resided in Mountainhome, PA until January 2014.
Alice was born in Allentown to William S. and Winnie (Greulich) Kistler, both of whom preceded her in death.
She graduated from Emmaus High School, Juniata College, and the Allentown Hospital School of Nursing.
After college, Alice served as a VISTA volunteer in Kentucky. She then obtained her Montessori certification and taught for two years in Indiana. Her nursing career included stints at Pocono Medical Center and VNA/Hospice of Monroe County.
Surviving are her partner, Susan Rowe of Coatsville, and her beloved nephew, William (Jay) Kistler of Detroit, Michigan.
Siblings Kathryn Powers of Washington, D.C., Priscilla Kistler of Zionsville, PA, Emily Kistler of Emmaus, PA, William (Steve) Kistler of Zionsville, PA, and Sarah Kistler of Honolulu, Hawaii survive her.
Additional surviving nephews are Peter Powers of Denver, Colorado, Hiram Powers of Vienna, Austria, and Alex Casadonte of Arlington, VA.
Alice has donated her body to the Humanity Gifts Registry. At her request there will be no services. Please remember her for her many kindnesses, for a battle well-fought, and for a life well-lived.
Memorial contributions may be made to a Parkinson's organization of your choice.
